KBC tenure: Since 2004 officially, but I grew up in the business: I worked in the summers from the age of 12, helping out in the shop and doing odd jobs. I have always had a great appreciation for art and design. I love to draw! After working in corporate America for over three years, I was always missing something in my career. The design -- and family -- brought me back.

Responsibilities: Project design and management, pricing, engineering and ordering, general oversight of KBC’s operations and processes/systems.

Best thing about work: I love that each day is different. Each client, each project, each design problem, each solution…all unique. That is what makes what we do so fun.

Memorable project: The no-holds-barred project that went on to win the NKBA and Pittsburgh magazine awards. We worked for wonderful people who truly appreciated the art and engineering behind what we do and allowed us to be creative with our designs and problem solving.

Most people don't know that: After playing college ice hockey for four years, I took over as head coach while a fifth-year student, and led the University of Dayton to what was then the most successful season in the program's history.

Awards: Co-designer on a project that won two first-place awards (medium-sized kitchen and large bath) in the National Kitchen and Bath Association's annual design competition, our industry's "Oscars," as well as Pittsburgh magazine's 2016 Home of the Year in the "new build" category.
